I’m Lauren, the owner, designer and calligrapher behind Hemlock Ridge Designs.
 
The Hemlock journey started in May 2018 when I was gifted a ticket to a calligraphy class, and I was immediately hooked. By June of that year, I had started my Instagram account, now called @hemlockridgedesigns, to document my projects and share with family and friends. Two years and many projects after that, I jumped in head first to officially launch Hemlock Ridge Designs, inspired by the name of the street where I grew up.

I live in Westbrook, Maine with my husband, Alden. We got married in September 2023 in Portland! I’m constantly inspired by nature and fascinated by all types of design, and I love learning new things, so it’s never too long before I’m trying a new craft, project or medium (and I love it that way).

When I’m not working on Hemlock projects, teaching calligraphy classes, or dreaming up my next entrepreneurial venture, I enjoy playing golf with Alden, watching documentaries, and experimenting with new recipes.
